Have been working for a couple of years at Amazon, got bored, moving to FB soon. During the interview process I became excited from the prospect of new job and etc. Now after things calmed down, I'm back to wondering what the hell I want to do with my life and do I really need this rat race. How do you guys stay motivated?
I would like to know as well.
Have a hobby.
That's the thing actually. Outside of work I do have stuff I enjoy doing. Not some very unique stuff, just everyday stuff. But I wonder how to keep the motivation at work.
I am not a psychologist but I find focusing on the "why" aspect of you job is important. Why are you doing this? Money? Love for coding? Or making cool products that many people use and even in a small way you contribute to their positive experiences? If you think your "why" is not clear then reflect on your life goals and see how this position fits in that goal. We all have to work to survive until FIRE. Take breaks if needed. Give your mental health some time. Remmeber to spend alone time everyday.

Move to a startup, find a tech hobby, work on bringing that hobby into a new product/feature. Or start a company.
