I see a Netflix job posting on LinkedIn and also on Netflix career site that I’m really interested in. I just don’t feel ready to interview yet so I’m waiting for the right moment. On one hand, I’m afraid that this position would be filled before I interview but it’s been a few weeks and it’s still there. So I’m curious if this particular position is actually not for a single position but instead maybe for a group of SWEs in general. It seems to be for a specific team though, e.g. UI Foundation. When there’s job posting from Netflix, how many engineers are they hiring? Does it mean that they are looking for one person but no one has been good enough for them so far?#tech #tech
Apply Interview ?????? Profit
What I mean is why is the job posting up for so long? Is it because they are hiring multiple people for that particular position so even if they hired some, they still keep it up? Or is it because they have interviewed many people for that role but have not found that one really good engineer that checks all the boxes yet?
Typically, it will say in job description if hiring for multiple folks for single job posting. We do have shared pipeline for software engineers internally (sourcing candidates, interviews), but there should be a unique job description posted for each role. If job posting still up means haven’t found/closed a candidate. Just apply
Thanks, this really helps!
They don’t even have a candidate portal to track application status. Most applications are thrown into a black hole.
We don’t have candidate portal, but we definitely do track every application submission internally.
Curious as well
I think they are so selective with hiring that it might take a long time to actually find someone for the position. Idk tho since i dont work there
“waiting to apply” has never been a strategy. You’re just giving your competition a free pass
