How does insanely higher TC of so many in the corporate effects those who are federal or state employees?
Federal employees like law enforcement, defense, DMV, social security office, CBP, ICE, TSA, judges, federal attorneys, IRS, etc. These employees are critical to the US economy and the security of its residents. Most occupations with insanely high TC are in Tech, Law, Pharma, Medical, FinTech, stock markets, etc.

Yes I believe dmv workers deserve a raise
They should be automated out of a job.
I've thought about it while sitting at the DMV office waiting to be called. Many of their jobs can absolutely be automated.
Public funding vs. privately owned/publicly traded
It brought me here. Everyone is different but I'm a very motivated person relative to my peers and at this point I just want a piece of the pie too, so I'm trying to get into a tech company. I imagine if I had a strong sense of patriotism, I would be a lifer, but I'm nothing special in that area.

Good pension/benefits + located in low cost of living area make most local/state a good deal. The same for federal employees outside of Washington (which is only moderate col area too).

It drives low talent, low intelligence, and low competence into these professions which contributes to the problems our country has. The critical functions of our country aren’t exactly occupied by people of highest caliber because there is no $$$ incentive.
Do we just pay more taxes?
Unfortunately more taxes will not automatically create the level of competition required to flush the system of incompetence. It will just feed the cancer. And this isn’t even true particularly for public vs private; it’s true for all bozo explosions. I’ve seen it first hand at many Fortune 500s in my career.
