I've interviewed with FB and Google for PhD internships. The process has been, 1. Submit the application 2. Contacted by a recruiter 3. Set up the first round of phone/online interviews (2 interviews) 4. Set up the second round of phone/online interviews (1 interview) 5. Bam! Passed all three interviews, wait for team match interviews. 6. Talk to three managers, got matched to a team, and viola, just wait for the internship to start. But the MS PhD internship interview process seems quite different. I interviewed with MS last year, after only one round of phone (without coding) interview with a specific team, they flew me in for 5 onsite interviews with that team. Didn't get the internship at the end. What I want to know the most is that do you have to get picked by a team at MS first before there's even any interviews? Because FB and Google recruiters stayed in touch with me even after the first time I failed the interviews with them, but they asked me to apply again with them directly whenever I feel ready. But the MS recruiter just disappeared and seemed like she was only working with that specific team. #internship #Microsoft #interview Now, my new internship application with MS now just stucks in the limbo, it's been four months, no one has contacted me. Are there any managers from MS here that need PhD interns? I'll be doing an internship with FB this summer, and still looking for an internship opportunity in the Fall. I do research related to Software Engineering, Testing debugging, static analysis, etc.
