Hi 👋🏻 blind 🧑🦯 Expecting an offer for a PM role at Expedia Group that is based in Seattle. I know Expedia is on a hybrid schedule, how flexible is the policy? Can you define when you come in? Is it possible to spend a significant amount of time (say a month) working from home? Possible to negotiate full wfh? Tc:120k #Expedia #Remote

Interesting as JP Morgan just announced they are building a travel agency 🧐 Did you come from that org? I can see Expedia trying to poach as many people as they can with high offers 😀 To answer your question, based on my friend who works for Expedia, they are really pushing RTO. The requirement now is 50% but they aren’t going to measure you down to the exact hour. It would be weird if one person got a remote exception or didn’t come in for a month, because everyone wants that.
Depends on your manager org. We been doing twice a week.. which is actually not that bad
Same.
depends entirely on your manager
How long did it take for you to hear back for result?
In my experience, not great. Shockingly inflexible towards long term employees, many of whom did heroic levels of work remotely during the lockdown. Official policy is 3 days in, 2 days WFH. In theory there is some play to get manager approval for remote work, though that’s hit or miss. I had one manager who was amenable, and one who wasn’t. Incidentally this is why I ended up leaving Expedia. Got a better offer elsewhere for more money, bigger name, and 100% WFH
Very flexible, the 50/50 wfh policy in place right now is not enforced and vast majority of employees come in 1-2 days max. Others have managed to get approval for 100% remote
If most of your team is in Seattle, expect at least one day a week where you would be in the office (assuming you are healthy) to collaborate with others. Once you get your footing on projects, most teams can be pretty flexible...but is driven by individual team management.
The official policy is 2 days a week but I don’t know a single person who follows this requirement (or expects it from a middle manager standpoint). We’re making a BIG push right now to open or convert more remote roles. It’s in the works and is top of mind for all of the people teams. 95% of our teams here are all for working flexibly, traveling, and using PTO (which is untracked).
Do you have an idea which teams would accommodate remote? Just joined as a PM in Seattle and done love it. would like to be remote
team dependent, some teams don’t care at all. but being at HQ i would imagine you’d have to go in twice a week

Should be 100% from office in the next year or 2. What can you expect from a travel for good company? Ofcourse they want you to travel. Btw, my wife works for Expedia.
There’s a difference between Travel and Commute..
Might be but there are so many factors. They contructed a 1 billion dollar campus in seattle (HQ) just before covid. Do you think they will just let it go?
