Is "From the River to the Sea" So Wrong?
If you're capable of doing that work just ask. You'll be able to try your hand at tasks and if you're good enough end of story. If you have no experience go learn it first.
What type of tasks?
In boot camp you decide which tasks to work on. These are a wide range of problems to solve for teams. Could be simple refactoring or building an entire feature. A ml task would involve doing ml. Tasks are there to help you find out what you like and don't like doing. A little sample of the kind of work you'll be getting on that team and you can temporarily sit with teams while working on a task of theirs.
