How have layoffs affected your company culture and morale?
For those who survived and were not laid off, how’s the overall morale?

Bruh we haven’t even had them yet and morale is in the shitter
Because Google has not ever done a sizeable layoff so people are scared and anxious. Putting people on pip or whatever Google calls to create layoff candidates is causing stress. It's stressful when the company advertises itself as a chill, relaxed place with free food and great culture
Morale tanked and accepted the fact that if layoffs happen again I would be the first one to let go So preparation mode "whatever it takes"
The beatings shall continue until morale improves

People on blind channel seem upset. At work I see management actively justifying why projects exist like how they contribute to bottom line. Morale at work seems okay.
At my company, everyone started to feel that the ones who are laid off with good severance packages are damn lucky. I hear that so many people are looking for other options.
It tanked. People have one foot out the door
