Can choose to move to Dallas or remote It’s a contract job for Verizon, so basically it’s 75/hr. Would it be better than Seattle 200k? tc:0
It’s 156k 260*8*75
May be he removed taxes
In contract jobs you pay more taxes. You are responsible for self employment tax, SSN tax, Medicare tax on top of income tax. So in total you usually pay around 35-40% tax
Depends on your lifestyle, but making a little less then 140, you’ll be comfortable.
Pretty much poverty
In Dallas? You trippin
I make 95K and I’m living good.
Good in my opinion but it depends on your lifestyle and how big your household is and such
I would not move for a Verizon contract role unless you have to. They are in financial trouble and contracts get cut easily. My whole team there was laid off.
This is true. They just did a 6% cut last week too.
Hi! Are there any contract positions for devops engineer at capital one? I was cut from a Verizon project couple of weeks back.
Dallas hotter than SEA. Enjoy the lazy rivers. Stay in shape and enjoy the warm weather.
Who told you Dallas has lazy rivers? No idea what you’re talking about
Dallas is way too hot in the summers to do anything outdoors, nor does it have any nearby natural scenery to enjoy
It’s more than 140k btw. I joined Verizon on contract too for 75/hr last month
Far better than Seattle 200. I make 200 in Dallas and pretty much do whatever I want
Can you elaborate on this, I make over 200 but property taxes, bills are killing me
You might have overextended on your house then. Mine is nice but reasonable so it's not really a consideration. The market is of course fucked everywhere right now
Depends on your rent spending. You can get a decent 1b/1b in Dallas for 1500/m depending on the neighborhood. I know for Seattle that's atleast 2k/month.
Rents are way up the past couple years in Dallas. A decent 1/1 starts at around 2k now
