Does anyone have any insights into Carta's engineering team culture, products, leadership, profitability? I still don't get what they are trying to achieve and the products. It seems like they are building equity management platforms/ solutions (cap table, LLC, equity comp management...) with a mission to create more builders. Is Carta a SaaS company? how big is the market in equity management tooling space. #tech #carta #amazon #meta #google #equity
We’re growing about mid double digit, which isn’t bad for a company of our size. The financial metrics are good, and the core product is still growing quite a lot. The vision is to become the equity and compensation management platform for all private and public companies, as well as investors. We also compete with EquityZen & Forge Global in the private company share marketplace market. There are definitely lot of execution challenges ahead and the product has a lot of potential for improvement, but based on my personal experience only a handful of companies with similar scale are doing better than Carta. If done right Carta can go from good to great, and market size is not the biggest concern.
Thanks for insider insights! Would you mind sharing a bit about company culture and morale ? specifically data science team culture.
Overall the culture is transparent and most people I worked with are easy to work with. Obviously it’s not perfect. You can check the pulse score yourself as I find it mostly accurate. Not super familiar with the data science team so cannot comment on that.
It’s a dumpster fire as heard from friends. The core product data is mostly stale, Googling is better lol
Mid double digit growth is not stale. You only have a handful of >100M ARR companies growing faster than that, e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, Figma, etc.
