Specifically the EA Cloud, Tech ops team that sits in Seattle,Austin . Glassdoor reviews widely vary and so are the comments on here. TIA!
I hear bad things about all game companies. I’d stay away. Look up the rockstar debacle where the wives sued rockstar.
Don’t listen to the Valorem person - he/she doesn’t know anything. That perception is more for game studio headcount - long hour before a game ships EA Cloud/tech ops is a central tech team, which is mostly the same as other tech companies
All I can speak for EA central teams is what I've heard. I've worked alongside a lot of them for many years and it doesn't look good culture wise. They are constantly trying to prove their worth to a company whose sole interest is to ship games and doesn't care much about technology or culture outside of Frostbite game engine. It doesn't get much better inside the game studios either. I'm planning on leaving soon because of the toxic culture and constant stress. Work/life balance is terrible and carreer advance is slow. Most of my ex-colleagues moved on to work for non-gaming companies in Austin and they say it's 100 times better and will never come back to EA
The new Seattle office is cool inside. I recently visited. But that's all I know. EA is ramping up commitments on the tech side but I'm not sure how that translates to the ground level culture.
