I am scheduled for one interview. Wondering, after all these layoffs and negative market vibes, how is the bar now compared to 2021? Any recent experience?
If you have a good job and you're happy with it, you might want to hold off on joining Google. Things aren't stable and I have no reason to believe it will get better in the near future.
If it's not stable at Google, it's probably not stable at OPs current company(DocuSign)
It’s always been low
Yea don’t join its very low, thanks
I think op is asking about LC bar
All my friends/ex-colleagues/classmates who joined google are really outstanding at their area, even after well experiences for years, not everyone can get in, why do people continue thinking it’s low bar?
It lowered the day after I was hired.
That's what everybody thinks. Also promotion becomes easier for everyone after they get promoted 😜
It varies. These are from the last month: (1) Lady with PhD, a few parents, aced my interview. All recommendations hire or leaning hire. Didn't get hired. (2) Random guy. Failed design interview. Strong no hire from me. Will get an offer. (If you're a SWE and want a good laugh dm me for details.)
It has definitely lowered in the last two years. It was bound to happen for the company to grow this big. I had competing offers from Amazon and Meta, but google’s interview was the toughest for sure What position are you interviewing for?
L4
I just got an offer. Confirmed low bar.
Can I DM you with some questions?
Sure
The place has become toxic af
Hiring bar is low af. 15% of the company has SCI. If you are not bottom 15% of society you should get hired easily.
Only 15% of Google orgs have SCI? Which Orgs don't have SCI so I can avoid them?
What is SCI
