I have a offer at Indeed for SWE role. I need to GTFO the Meta sinking ship, but worried if Indeed will be risky for layoffs because the company is on a general hiring freeze. Any Indeed people have thoughts? The role is in the SMB division for a supposedly important position that needs backfilling. Edit: thanks all for the info
I thought they would. I did a contract with them. They had over 10k employees for their single product.
Lmao
We have more than one product I agree we have a ton of employees per product, but more than one product
Tough decision.
How was the interview process compared to meta?
Much harder (maybe because the market is worse than when I applied to Meta, not sure)
Level, yoe and tc at Meta and new tc at Indeed?
?
I pass their interview for sde1 last year, i think it s still valid. I will jump to indeed incase the current layoff affect me
SWE1 roles won't open up. Indeed is not your backup.
Poor fit for meta I see, not including the current TC nor the new offer details MM
I was part of Meta for last few years. (Laid off). Isn’t it safe to stay at Meta right now? Experiencing the situation outside I feel I had stayed at Meta 😔
Sorry to hear that, i am still missing some of my team who were laid off.. also no i dont think its safe and the work enviroment has gone into toilet
Sorry to hear that. Good luck with your decision. Hope it works out
Jump off sinking ship and save the ship .
TC offered by indeed and breakdown please ?
What level? A top tier HCOL non-senior offer would be like.... 190k base + 10% bonus + a little over 30k in stocks/year.
They’ve had hiring freezes earlier this year. I was on final round in sept and the role was froze
Yah im worried itll turn into layoffs like the hiring freezes at a lot of tech companies lately
