This is for engineering manager role.
How come better than Amazon ?
FAANG was coined by a non engineering person. Why are you using that for comparison?
FAANG is well known now. Even we can use it now.
Pay wise, they are relatively less. Also my concern is stability wise. Will Linkedin stay for next 5 years
I think LinkedIn will take over Microsoft, so, from the career perspective, it should be great.
So u mean that Linkedin might one day get inside FAANG subset of companies. That's good. Thanks.
Sorry to say but if you are so dumb to keep bringing in FAANG everywhere without any understanding of what it actually means, irrespective of context, I’ll be worried if you were an EM on my team. Being a FAANG doesn’t mean the company offers the best career opportunities. It’s was a term coined for high growth tech stocks.
Yaa dude I am quite dumb and not suitable for ur company. But I am good at understanding the depth of a concept and use it other places aswell and I want to have people with better intelligence to understand the correlation.
FANG acronym comes from financial word where ppl follow stock market.. FANG stock have done considerably good than other texh stocks.. hence the acronym FANG... Being part of FANG has nothing to do with work environment or pay structure of the company...
I think being part of FAANG increases the value of stock and thereby increases pay. It also should give stability to the company.
Pay of a FANG company is comparatively higher.. I agree on that.. but LinkedIn's pay is much higher than Amazon for sure.. LinkedIn is much better is giving out annual refreshers.. Uber/Lyft pay is better as well.. there are many other companies that pay better than FANG.. Airbnb is one of them.
MANGO
We have not done well with managers from Amazon. Your culture corrupts ours. My first instinct is to ask you to stay away. I hope you prove us wrong if/ when you join. Unfortunately this thread doesn’t change my mind. And yes we pay more.
Well said
LinkedIn has better name than amzn. But there are lots of good paying companies out there. Some arre way below the radar.
Better than Amazon
