How is Microsoft AI+R?
How is Microsoft AI+R viewed compared to the other big orgs at Msft? Is it more prestigious?
I heard that they used to be very hot with rapid promos back when Bing was first built. Nowadays, they aren't nearly as important any more, with Azure & O365 being the top dogs. But some teams there still do good work. Note: MSR is also under AI+R, but this doesn't apply to them.
It’s a humongous org and no one really cares about prestige between C+E and AI+R etc. Do you know which team or org specifically?
Nothing special. I'm in for org. All the politics and bs just like any other org. No special work unless you're in some special team.
I am in AI+R, it mainly include MSR and SAN(Search, Ads and News). It's hard to say more prestigious although, yet it's a very core org for Microsoft. Despite the revenues generated by Ads, the data, knowledge and methodology accumulated from this org are quite valuable across Microsoft. Most of all, this org doing work aligned to the hottest stuff in the industry.
Most of AI&R was moved to E&D in last year's reorg
