A lot of people mentioned a lot about how great their training programs are for the first 1-1.5 yrs before getting promoted to AE I’m wondering if it’s actually good and if you have a choice which one would you pick?
I don’t know anything about Oracle but I wouldn’t expect a great training program from Salesforce as a BDR. It’s a great name on the resume but not for training as a BDR. A lot of BDRs at Salesforce are just glorified assistants. A lot of them don’t even reach out to new business accounts and rely on bullshit meetings with current customers and handouts from their AEs to reach quota. If you’re in all new business then you can learn a lot but pray that you get a good territory.
This is accurate AF
It’s all about what you make of it. NyJk82 isn’t wrong. But if you can grab mentorship from senior AE/AD’s to sit in on internal/external mtgs, you’re learning will accelerate. The BDR program is a candidate machines for other sales roles. I’d say: 1)grab SF 2)get uncomfortable asking to learn from your account team 3)crush you numbers 4)get promoted and be the captain of your vessel
Salesforce
Salesforce. Even if BDRs are bs there you're still in a high quality sales program. My bdr training was eh, now I'm getting prepped for my next role and they're teaching sales methodology. You want your bdr time to be as easy as possible, and get it over with.
You’ll have quicker room for growth at less established companies or startups. But between those two I’d say salesforce is better to break into saas
