How is PM at M365 at Microsoft

I have a PM offer for Microsoft at M365, does anyone have any insight into this org and Microsoft at large?

M365 is almost whole of Microsoft. What specific team?

Microsoft cantankero Nov 29, 2019

Good org. Most products are mature. Not enough work pressure.

M365 is all I will know until 3 weeks out. Comparing to smaller, less brand name companies

M365 is more of a license SKU than an org or team.

Oh, yeah I wish they told me more team specifics. I’m pushing for details but haven’t got much information so far

PM role in general is fucked up in Microsoft. As long as you are good at stealing other people work you will do great.

Would you mind elaborating?

I've only worked for one team at Microsoft, but from what I've seen there are very few PMs that actually make meaningful contributions. Lots of pointless meeting scheduling and running around trying to slap their name on as many things as possible so they can't point and say "look what I did".

M365 marketing is nasty

Working with the marketing teams you mean?

Good role for PMs in M365. You have tons of engineers you can direct.

Microsoft YVvj14 Nov 29, 2019

The PM role at Microsoft isn't directing engineers. If this isn't sarcastic you're a huge part of the problem.

Select work for engineers?

Isn’t Microsoft mostly program managers?
