How is netflix handling the backlash from their poor decision making?

How are things internally? From the outside it seems like 80% of people are canceling netflix. Is everything internally on fire? Are they feeling the pressure to reverse this bad decision? My family is canceling out netflix next time we get billed btw, so is my girlfriend. We all live in seperate households and not a single one of us watches consistently to justify a $18/mo payment for 4 screens at 1080p

If the data looks bad, they won't do it for US.

Words out that theyre reversing their decision. It was released "by mistake"

I don't think people realize this is currently only in Costa Rica. I'll wait a bit. If they decide to expand the model to the US, then I'll cancel.

People from Netflix on here have relatively tight lips, so you're probably not going to hear anything. More so to made-up statistics.

Netflix only has to be better than the competitors. Also everyone is going to follow Netflix and crack down on password sharing. This is similar to what happened in 2001/2 when airlines started introducing fees. It’s become a norm now but then it started everyone hated it. They are releasing ad supporter level to hold on the cost conscious subscriber. Everything they are doing is great for stock owners. The employees are not going to complain about this. It’s all good for their long term business.

All this whining about Netflix making moves to enforce they’re TOS is hilarious. Cancel if you don’t like the content, but you must surely realize they’re a business and sharing your account with others just so they can avoid paying for the service is theft.

Well if they sell by number of screens then the user should be able to use them as he wants.

Disney zFaH34 Feb 2, 2023

They don’t sell by the number of screens, they sell by the number of subscriptions, and as a subscriber I can use multiple screen to access the content. Just because my plan says I can watch it on 4 supported devices at a time doesn’t give me the right to invite people outside my household to use the screens I’m not using.. come on.

When you hear 80% of people saying they're going to do something, maybe 5% of people will .. They're not going to lose a ton of customers over this

Capital One NQXH85 OP Feb 2, 2023

They probably will TBH. Between their lack of content and the fact you cannot log into netflix on a device that's been locked without physically calling netflix and speaking to someone, is what will kill it.

Netflix n689? Feb 2, 2023

stop reading weekly word news or wherever source you heard that from about calling netflix and speaking to a human??

Growth slowing = need to increase prices. That’s the only reason you are paying more.

Capital One NQXH85 OP Feb 3, 2023

Companies shouldn't need to have infinite growth. That's not physically possible. And when they continue to cancel shows people actually want to see, there's no reason to get netflix anymore...

Netflix VestRest Feb 2, 2023

We increased the price this time last year and it seemed 80% of people were cancelling Netflix too

Capital One NQXH85 OP Feb 3, 2023

But this isnt just raising prices. This is locking people out of their accounts on specific devices and requiring a phone call to support to unlock it. If theyre going to call, theyre probably going to call to cancel netflix

Netflix VestRest Feb 3, 2023

LoL. They didn't pay for Netflix in the first place
