Anyone worked at MS in Canada in product or engineering? Curious what the pay, culture and wlb is like compared to the US - e.g. are CAD teams still respected? Is hybrid actually enforced? How are the other benefits besides comp? Pay ranges on their website seem low for Vancouver, and I wouldn't want to move to the west coast HCOL for the same or less pay. Interested in hearing experiences. TC: $220K CAD

may be peanuts compared to the US but very high relative to other companies in Canada
The pay is about half of what you could get in the US (considering CAD conversion). In eng or product, you will be based likely in a North American team with a heavy presence in Redmond and will be respected generally (it's the India and Shanghai offices that usually have to "bend" to Redmond wants/timezone, Redmond usually leads). You will have the WLB of your team, so highly team dependent. Other benefits are good (healthcare, RRSP match of 100% up to 7.5%, ESPP 10% discount on contributions up to 15% of salary). Overall, the package is on par with other mid-tier software companies, but behind Amazon, Google, Shopify, etc.
That RRSP match is pretty good at least, and espp is good consideration MS stock has been doing well. Thanks for the input!
