No quant funds and no new finance places (stripe, robinhood) Old ones like amex, capital one, schwab, Bofa, wells, chase, etc… #amex #capitalone #schwab #barclays #bankofamerica #wellsfargo #chase #bloomberg #goldmansachs #jpmorgan #morganstanley #fidelity #hsbc #americanexpress #citi #tdameritrade
If you’re not working at a hedge fund or a quant I think it’s absolute trash

Bloomberg pays FAANG level at low-mid levels and apparently the wlb is great. It should not be lumped in with the rest of these places.
I was about to ask how was life in traditional tech companies like ibm, microsft, intel, google.
Microsoft and Google shouldn’t be lumped together with IBM and Intel. Cmon…
Incredibly slow to change. Most of the banks still run a ton of stuff on mainframe in COBOL.
what kind of perks do employees at these companies get? Preferred rates/accounts? No fee credit cards?
You may get higher tier of checking account. Health insurance and benefits are pretty good. Job security is pretty good in the big banks from my friends experience in tech.
low TC, chill work, chill people.
I’m having a blast
Terrible comp, incredible wlb, pretty good culture depending on what you mean by culture. Similar experience at Citi and Mastercard.
Mastercard is a tech company though...
How is the culture? How are the performance reviews and how frequently?
Impossible to answer; depends on the team, manager; department, etc.
Hi @HSBC, can you refer me for new grad SDE roles? (will be graduating in summer 2022 and currently intern at an Investment management company)
Sure, Please DM
Not good. Tech company any day
