How is the reputation of Google X?
Has a potential offer at X Do they provide alphabet stock? How is the people view X? Same as google or less reputable? My concern is that some people view Nest is inferior compared to main google. Not sure about X. Any insights?

Skunkworks orgs mean you labor longer on things that never see the light of day. To me it implies you may not know how to actually ship, maintain or improve things released to actual users. My personal worries as a hiring manager would be that you're a smart person who might be overly pedantic or academic. I'd look for signal of humility and pragmatism in my conversations with you.
Within X you can expect to be assigned to a project that may or may not succeed. If it is killed then you will have time to find another project. If it succeeds then you could graduate with it. There are some Central teams but it is definitely more likely to be tagged to a project. Rapid development and interesting challenges can be expected. Great compensation can be expected as well as pride in X, your project and your team.
