Former Samsung here. Work culture will depend on the team. And it ranges from all-life to all-work. But even then, I'd not expect slogging entire night to be normal. Promotion after senior staff is based on how much rapport you are able to build with higher management or how much of a star performer you are. If you don't have any other offer in hand, and they are offering significant hike, I'd suggest to accept the offer to bring up your TC. But do that with a goal of leaving SSIR if the work/WLB doesn't suit you. Samsung is not a good place to grow for 8+ yoe people. It all becomes very stagnant and saturated after that. If you are planning to retire there, it's a pretty good place to rest (no vest, as they don't have stocks). But then don't expect promo or any meaningful hikes either.
