Is it as interesting as working as a SWE in AI at Google/Facebook/Uber/Amazon?
Isn’t nvidia’s relevance to AI purely a matter of dumb luck? They make chips that are really good at floating point calcs, aside from that how do they have any relevance to AI in general?
Jensen talks about the Big Bang for ai but the ceo has been a visionary (cough hate using this term) for a while talking about cuda even though no customer cared for it way back when
I guess one could say why can’t amd be just as good if it’s luck
How lucky do people have to get?
I know some people who work there. It's a very talented team
Honesty, it is really nice Not sure which part of AI SWE you’re thinking of. The term is quite broad nowadays), but you can really easily interact and work with teams from all the « AI stack » (Gosh that sounds BS but it’s true) Like, one day you’re working with researchers, the next day you’ll talk with HW guys, the communication is great
Can second this
Working as an AI SWE at Nvidia is like a box of chocolates
as in you never know what you’re gonna get?
