I got laid off in Jan. Amazon was my 'breakthrough' from all the previous low paying and not so challenging jobs. At Amazon, although it was stressful (even for a newbie), I was still happy because there was so much to learn. But then I got laidoff before I could even complete 6 full months. It was a shocker. I was devastated and so was my family (including my fiance) who were away. Feb and March were one of the most stressful months of my life. Even broke down crying once. But it all worked out fine for me in the end. I now work at Apple. Looking back it was a crazy experience. I'm sure everyone's circumstances are different and are unique. I just wanted to see how you managed and if there's anything you can share here. So how was it for you? How did you manage? What did you learn during that laid off period? Best Times / Worst Times? My takeaways, - My fiance. She was very supportive throughout the period ❤️ - I also learned to hide my emotions as much as possible (not sure if this is good or bad tho) - Learned to suck it up and focus on current issues rather than whining and doing nothing to fix For others who are still struggling, I pray you come out successful 🙏 It's not an easy journey. You deserve the best! Good luck 👍 TC: 190k -> 280k #software #layoff
But the hide your emotions part is not a great strategy. Since you cleaned out your emotional bucket and it seems to be empty, have a strategy when it fills up again and make sure to empty it before it overflows. Get an outlet like boxing, martial arts, or something you can easily do on a weeknight to keep the bucket from overflowing.

Hard times make you more resilient, empathetic, and appreciative. Once u go through hell a few times, u pretty much can roll with whatever life throws u, bc u have confidence in your ability to recover.
Not nearly as good
Keep fighting buddy. Never give up and never lose hope. I promise it'll get better. Wishing you all the good luck 🤞
