Trying to gauge how many months of Leetcode I’m gonna need to crack G. currently at amazon as sde1 and 1 yoe.
No option for 0?
6 years ago there was no LC. I got the offer with literally no preparation at all for internship.
Huh? They have been asking data structure and algo questions since 2009 when interviewed there
Yea, but didn't need to prepare
~2 months, about 50 questions . Got more return from reading algo textbooks
Any recommendations for Python/C++ or language-agnostic? Asking for a college student I'm mentoring
I liked algorithms in c++ by Sedgwick. But clrs is personal favorite
90% of my studying was from a book called "Elements of Programming Interviews", which I highly recommend. The 10% was about 50 Google-tagged problems on leetcode, which in hindsight didn't help me all that much.
Did you go through the entire book or specific parts?
But you're at fb
15 years and still trying
Do 100+ medium/hard problems, that would cover most common concepts. Before I did that I was barely getting any offer. After that, got offers wherever applied.
This question is pretty irrelevant but it entirely depends on your luck. You can study 500 leetcodes over 1 year and still get asked super hard question which you did not prepare in phone and fail. Or you can spend 1 month studying basics and end up getting asked something you studied or similar question. When people say "I studied only for 20 days and I got into Google. I'm smart.", take it with a huge pinch of salt.

i did 23 LC easy over 5 months spent most of my other time on stuff like OS and networking lol because recruiter told me to prepare for CS fundamentals
Yeah right...no way easy would work
well here i am? you can believe whatever, idc i had spent a lot of time during high school on math/programming outside of class (not LC though - but including MIT OCW), so that might have helped
