We’ve all seen, and rolled our eyes at, the 5-pager that includes “hobbies” like beer-league water polo and high school projects from 15 years ago. But how long should a good resume really be? If it’s more nuanced, please share those nuances, especially recruiters and hiring managers! Note: I understand the distinction between CV and resume. #tech #resume
I have 3 pages. I get interviews anywhere I applied.
1-1.5, I don’t read CVs longer than 2 pages, and I interview 2-4 folks per week.
No one has time to read 1 page, why would you have more than that
When everything is digital, it does not matter if your resume is 1 page or 20 pages long. 1 page resume became the norm because it was hard to print and maintain a more than 1 pager
IMO there no excuse to have 2 pages. It should always be one.
As short as possible, but not short for the sake of being short. Mine is 2.5- I have a lot of detail surrounding my experience/impact over the last few roles.
two pages ...short and sweet ...
Short and sweet is half a page
really ? ..TC
My resume is 13 pages long. Mostly filled with publications. That's what I use for all my job applications and seem to get interviews. I guess it depends on the job you are applying to and the content you have to share with you hiring committee.
Da f?
10 years of relevant experience, remove your internships unless worthy of mentioning. otherwise the recruiter and hiring managers will not get to page 3. 2 pages max, don’t put a photo. (My recruiter 2 cents)
Also, LinkedIn link, with LinkedIn profile/resume being longer and more work history vs physical resume but great place to link to continue story or archive job history. I look at over 500 resumes a week, so yep!
Everyone has their preference but so far I feel like 1 page has been sufficient enough for me to get interviews
