How many YOE do I have?

My career so far has been on the ops side of tech - Networking, Linux, Cloud (AWS primarily but with some GCP, Azure, Openstack, VMware + proprietary private cloud exp), Security, “DevOps”/SRE. I’m applying for my first SDE role. I got contacted by an Amazon recruiter. The email asks how many years of experience I have. I have no idea how to answer the question. Or even what level to aim for. I’m guessing my programming skills is probably a strong SDE1, because programming is not *yet* one of my main job duties. However, I have a ton of other transferable tech skills. Plus I’ve been a tech professional with startup, mid-size, and fortune 500 experience. That should theoretically make me more productive than a new grad. * I have 0 years of SWE experience. But I do a ton of automation using both declarative coding tools (ex Ansible, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Docker Compose — but I’ve used a dozen others) and programming (Python, Go, Node, Bash and some SQL/PHP/Perl/Ruby/R/Java years ago that I’ve long-since forgotten and don’t list on my resume) * I have 6 years of Systems/DevOps/SRE - type experience. I have 10 years of tech experience overall. I’m currently working thru Data Structures and Algorithms + Leetcode but don’t think I’m ready to be tested on them just yet — maybe a few more weeks of prep. TC: 160 (Side bar — I only saw the Amazon recruiter’s e-mail by chance. They reached out on an email I haven’t used since middle school. Only logged into the email account randomly because my EA Games account was linked to that address and I had to reset the password to play a game online w/ a friend. I have no idea how or why they know that email address. **I** even forgot that email address existed. But the recruitment email looks legit)
