Curious to know how many finance folks on Blind are considering the move. Just to clarify for the techies, back or middle office jobs in finance is a supporting role for the front office professionals that directly face clients and bring in money for the firm. BO/MO = operations, IT, risk management, corp treasury, finance control, HR FO = investment bankers, sales & trading, commercial banking
Worked in BO for many years; my employer didn't have a FO.
What even is a middle office role?
Some people shift it around based on how directly it is tied to revenue gen/FO operations So like Risk and Compliance I think because they’re explicitly tied to IBD/other FO groups? It’s weird af
Hmm I feel like it’s hard to make the distinction
For those looking to go into tech, especially FO people, what sort of companies and roles interest you? What spurred the desire to move?
