My coworker blurted out that he has been on "Addy" for years and that he can perform at a 10x level for hours on end. I knew the mf'er always looked zoned in and apparently has been using it since his university days where he was able to ace tests and work on monster assignments for hours on end. The dude's work is on point. And the best thing, he reckons anyone can "score Adderall" to boost their focus and work like a maniac. So late to the game. What else am I missing? Anyone else micro dose to work as a 10x engineer?
I used to use it a lot, haven’t in years. I ended up using Modafinil instead as it’s not an amphetamine and had less side effects. Yes I was super productive, helped more with boring tasks like doing documentation.
What were the side effects? Do you need a prescription? Most importantly, how did it improve your life?
Addy side effects were a rush, I got sweaty (felt like I was essentially running my body/brain on turbo), dick didn’t work, too positive/energetic. Modafinil gave me the same focus without the side effects, I could take a Modafinil and not even realize I took one, I’d just think I had a productive day. It improved my work, but not life as a whole. I feel like at least with the addy it was like nuking my body so probably better to not take it if I don’t need it. I kinda also began drinking because had to turn it down at night to sleep/rest
Your coworker is an asshole and is contributing to the nationwide shortage that people with an actual ADHD diagnosis are suffering through. Do fucking better.
Just last night I was trying to make a friend understand how people abusing addy and FMLA are making it harder to utilize that resource for those of us who need it to survive. Like “good for you. You get high from doing the thing that helps me brush my teeth but my prescription order is cancelled because there’s zero stock.”
Try calling medical pharmacies. I've had luck at medical pharmacies attached to dentists and compounding pharmacies. You may have to get your provider to adjust your dose for what's in stock (my Rx is only 5mg/2x a day but my provider will change it to to 10 mg or 20 mg if that's what's in stock. Then I just cut it into halves of quarters (dislike taking over my regular dose because it makes me jumpy). Can only do that for immediate release, extended release is hard to adjust dose by cutting.
I've been accused of taking it many times... never have tho
People accuse others of taking performance enhancing drugs in this industry? Wild.
Most of the accusations were in college due to my course load.
I was prescribed adderal for awhile and i was able to focus and perform better than ever but stopped taking it because the negative health side affects, mainly my appetite was 0 and I lost a ton of weight. I have microdosed shrooms a lot in my adulthood and feel very clear and can focus
How long were you able to maintain the heightened level of focus?
Can you share some pointers on the shrooms? I have been trying to find info on it but no success. Appreciate your feedback.
Are there tell tale signs to tell if someone is an Adderall addict? From the outside, the guy looks perfecttly normal and a high performing employee.
Easier to use B vitamins. Better for health and anti ageing too.
That's a new one. Care to explain the benefits?
Following for benefits of vitamin b.
Don't use on weekends. Don't.
Meditation is life changing. But you have to commit to it.
Do you just use one of the websites like headspace or do it with a trained professional? How many years did it take for you to start noticing differences?
I started by reading a book - the mind illuminated. Later I did some classes. The effects were immediate.
When I worked at Aetna/CVS, I played around in the pharmacy records and found the CVS location with the highest prevalence of Adderall prescriptions was on Harvard's campus.
No surprises I guess. In high performing, high pressure environments where everyone is operating at an 10x elite level, Adderall usage must be through the roof. Sure you would see similar dynamics on Wall st as well.
Your coworker is a drug addict. Why do you aspire to be like them?
dude just finishes tasks in one setting with ridiculous level of attention to detail. I find it hard to focus for more than half an hour at a stretch
How do you know he is an addict? Because he takes a prescribed medication that is designed to do exactly what it’s doing? I’m fairly certain nothing in the post dictates with certainty that he’s an addict. As an example: I’m fairly certain by your posts that you’re fat and smell of low TC. But that doesn’t make it true.
