Scrolling a net worth thread on here and seeing lots of 29-32yo multimillionaires…
For the life of me
Probably real but attributed to sample bias
There’s a selection bias. Nobody is posting saying they are 32 with 100k net worth. But it’s not that crazy either. I just turned 31 and my net worth is about $2 million. Have some large gains from MSFT, NVDA, TSLA, but most of it is just from having worked in big tech for 8-9 yrs making 300k-400k. But there are other people who just got some lucky timing. Lots of nvidia millionaires. Lots of Meta employees who joined at lucky times and are E5’s making $800k+.
lol these are nerds earning 300k plus over 6+ years. Why do you think it’ll be fake?
I actually think most are too low if people invested well. I have made like 1/4 to 1/3 what most people made here for years and hit almost 3m by age 40ish. In faang and better invested could have easily been 10m+
People fudge their height, why do you expect truth in TC?
It's an even split
Question is why do you care 😭💀
Can’t speak for OP but i think for me knowing where my peers at can be useful as a motivator to do better and also as a guide to what is commonly achievable or not.
You are pushing yourself into misery. You will not be motivated when you know your peers earn more; jealousy and frustration will hit sooner than you imagine. 99% of the time it's about luck and you will never be able to replicate their experience.
