How many of you actually use ALEXA/Siri or any voice assistants?
Lot of research is happening in Amazon Alexa/Siri/Google Assitant. but how many of you are actually using it? I never use any of voice assistants If you use it please share for what do you use it #facebook #google #amazon #alexa #siri
They’re overrated and most smart devices are too.
I use the Google Assistant just because I got it for free. Pretty good for setting reminders and alarms. Also sometimes use it to play music. It's a little creepy because I also have google opinion rewards and they'll sometimes ask me what I said to the assistant a few minutes after saying it. So everything is obviously being recorded and used for promotions.
Whether it's going to rain. The price of Bitcoin in the morning. How to do certain home repairs. Asking it to play music. Asking it to turn on/off bedroom light, etc. Timers while cooking
Nope because all that audio is being uploaded to a company’s servers forever every time you speak in your home.
I use it quite frequently. Turn on/off lights, music, arm/disarm motion sensors, home alarm, temperature control, one off orders on Amazon - when I don’t have my phone around.
We're in the super early stages of voice technology, and natural language understanding in general. The more use these assistants get, the more intelligent and reliable they'll get, and the more people will start using them regularly. In just a few years they've become the go-to for setting alarms, adjusting lights, and playing music for a lot of people. It's really short sighted to think about the value of development in these areas based on current usage. That would be like evaluating the value of internet browsers based on PC usage in 1994.
Use it for timers, reminders, lights, and sometimes voice web search random queries/unit conversions when I'm too busy/lazy to look it up on my phone.
Smart speakers are a hard no. I use voice commands with android auto while driving but that's it
I just use it because my fat a$$ is too lazy to get up and turn on/off the lights
Dude I'm too lazy to even use alexa for that. I use motion sensors
Yeah but sometimes I’m in my bed and like the lights on and sometimes I like the lights off
