How much are you able to save per month in Canada as a Software Engineer?
Post taxes, rent and other monthly expenses, how much money are you able to save for investments, sending to parents etc.? (With the usual Indian middle class lifestyle) Currently in US with TC 150k. May soon move to Canada due to H1B not being picked up.

Depends on your TC.Im assuming you will get 150-170k CAD TC . Post taxes and RRSP you will get around 7-8k a month in hand. 1BR condo for rent -1600 to 1900 Utilities and cell phone-200 Groceries and food-700 Transport pass-150 You can save around 4-4.5 k a month Add another 10k in RRSP In a year you could potentially save 60k-80k CAD. Avoid having a car in Toronto/van/Montreal If you can get the same TC and live in Montreal you could save another 10k as rents are lower

You will save more in India as compared to Canada both in terms of money and time :) go to India and stay happily with your parents
