Lifestyle is vague, so let me share what is included and what is excluded- Exclude: Rent and utilities Car, car payments, insurance, gas Medical expenses Grocery Include: Shopping for home, clothing, grooming, accessories Shopping for kids, you, family, gifts Electronics and gadgets Travel Restaurant Entertainment (live concerts and events, shows, subscriptions, movie theater) All values are in USD #personal finance
This is per-year right?
Yes
It does… but it’s a pretty big expense and not everyone buys that even if they have similar TC to afford. So basically my poll will have to range from 10k to 100k to cover cars. And that would render the poll useless if that makes sense.
Per month or per year?
I follow the generic rule. 50% needs (rent, insurance, etc), 30% of FU money (do whatever I want), invest 20%
This is standard American consumer who is leaving up to expectations of American banking. The banking wants you to stay poor so they devised this equation
We spend probably 2k/month on the non-essentials. Mostly clothes and random crap for the kids.
If you include travel, it goes over $20k/yr easily.
Poll should be percent of TC
☝️ most people maybe inclined to enhance lifestyle with higher pay so % makes a lot more sense
