Want to understand a good offer which Microsoft can offer at level 65 to SWEs in Redmond Area. Tc: 350k
What level at meta?
E4
😂😂
http://bit.ly/2021msft That’s the latest comp sheets that were employee submitted. Link may seem old but data is updated annually. 2023 rewards have not been released yet so that’s why the 2023 tab is empty.
It’s crazy how low many of those are for the level/yoe.
65 is retirement age in a lot of countries - thank you Microsoft for fighting against ageism 🙏
4 is kindergarten age and it’s clearly exploiting of child labor, which is illegal
I hope that’s sarcasm. If not, 65 is a job level here, not age.
$350k is actually high for the current steady state L65 comp (around $200K+$40K bonus+$65K stock). Could definitely hit $350K+ with sign-on awards, but post-cliff that would be high performance award, or counting stock appreciation.
Market right now is not conducive for bouncing for more competative offers and MSFT has just about stopped competing for talent... total comp can be 300-500k including benefits for l65 doe but at that level I would say is the work your signing up to do going to project forward for additional growth or are you just trying to hang out at l65 for a few years and live off merit increases. If you are a top performer then the "cliff" wont exist as youll get SSA's every 2, 3 years after your first 5 however the name of the game is growth and impact.. make the people around you better..
Depends on competing offers. I and a couple of people I know were able to get 450+ during the peak tech hiring in early 2022. It'll be 400+ after signing bonus goes away thanks to the jump is stock price.
Umm.. Industry people should know this but in case you didn't know.. Its 🥜

65 offers can be quite pathetic if you don't negotiate well or don't have a counter offer. If you do negotiate well, then we are talking 450k+.
How much base or stocks?
But you can’t negotiate refreshers and annual bonus %, so whatever you’d negotiate is going to be short term.
