5yoe as manual. Moving to automation. Behind only theoretical courses and knowledge. Not sure how much I have to ask for. ***** Location: Bay Area Interested in any company, that pays well. Currently manual at Apple Thanks
You got an offer?
No. No yet:) That's why I ask
QA role is dead, specially manual in any 1-Tier company
Not agree. There are bunch of QA roles. Are you a troll?π€
No, thatβs not true. Plenty of companies still have test roles because most engineers are either too lazy to write anything other than unit tests, and not good at test concepts in general. While MS, LinkedIn, Netflix, and FB may not have QA roles, Apple, Amazon, Google, Snap, Lyft, and Twitter all do (and Twitter brought back QA after not having it because they realized how valuable it actually is) Itβs definitely not a dead role, however, being able to do dev dramatically opens up the number of roles you can apply for.
Donβt do automation at Apple, go elsewhere. But at Apple Iβve seen TC of 350 for a senior automator.
What part of the country? What company? Etc Need way more info than that to give you a good number.
The post is updated. Can I get an estimation based on that?βοΈ
With no automation background, maybe 130-140k base, with a TC around 150k-200k Iβd be surprised if you got more than that, and you very well may get lower if youβre leveled at an entry level position. If so, youβre looking to start around 120k TC, but itβll rise fast.
