I'm a junior in college and was planning on accepting Dropbox SWE for the summer. However, I got an offer for SIG trading in the summer, and trading is something I'd like to explore, but I'm not sure if I'd go there full time. Honestly, I'll probably end up in tech, but not sure rn. Therefore, I was planning on doing mathworks SWE (to continue building SWE experience) in the spring and SIG trading in the summer. If I were to re-recruit for SWE FT, how much would it hurt to have Mathworks on my resume, vs. simply not doing trading and accepting Dropbox SWE? EDIT: The poll results seem to differ greatly from the comments -- wondering if someone can clarify.
If you want to do trading then go to SIG. It will open doors to bigger places when you interview for full time roles. If you wanna continue in tech then Mathworks will not hurt you.
Is this a real question? Dropbox no doubt for resume recognition.
Dropbox helps 10x as much as Mathworks. Not even a question. You’d be silly to pass on that.
Mathworks should be decent, and SIG is a top-is tier two prop firm so congrats on that. I mean, I'm a data scientist so I might be biased, but it's cool stuff
