How soon should I wait to contact terminated co-worker.
Found out today that some people I work closely with in another department were terminated ( not due to performance). We were not close enough to have their cell phone numbers, but kept up on each others personal lives. How long should I wait to contact them via social media? I’m going to offer being a reference for any potential new jobs and assistance with finding new ones. Tc 130k
as someone with who had experience being terminated, the sooner the better
Not relevant to your question but I had a friend who was a manager, one of the product managers for his team got laid off. He reached out on linkedin a week later and asked her out on a date. I personally would have waited another week or so lol.
I don't see a reason to wait if you're just going to offer support.
Today evening or tomorrow. Give them some time to absorb the reality, but don’t wait too long when your support doesn’t matter .
