List your solution approaches and why they should work.
Firstly why do they come to SF and not anywhere else in the US. SF has the largest homeless population and no majority of them didn’t have houses before, so it’s not that high costs put them on the streets (at least majority) those guys won’t work, do drugs, make public places filthy and make the city less safe. All this happens because everyone wants to be politically correct and also look at the problem from a humanitarian perspective. The homeless folks can care less they understand the language of force, most Midwest states have lower homeless populations. Some homeless guy went in a coffee shop and pooped on the floor cops couldn’t do a thing as it wasn’t enough to arrest him, you get what you elect, hail liberalism
Also doesn’t help that SF just elected a very anti-police DA. Why would SFPD care about the homelessness or the constant car break-ins? The elected officials are all wealthy and don’t give a shit about the poor other than for grandstanding.
The weather is a big reason why they come here.
This sounds like a vague bullshit
Need to have Republican leadership
Are you a MAGA supporter?
Wouldn't go that far, just saying democratic leadership may have caused the issue, a switch might resolve it.
It needs to be addressed at the federal level, otherwise you just end up shifting the problem around. Provide government-funded long-term(!) housing with the condition of going through rehab, provide mental health care. The thing is, half of the country is lacking empathy and won't support a program like this.
Why should it be at the federal level? It’s a city/state problem. SF and CA have sufficient resources to take care of its local problem. Problems are best resolved at the lowest level of govt most impacted by it. Not only that, you need to hold your leadership responsible. They have the resources, they’re just unmotivated and don’t care.
How can we hold our leadership responsible? London Breed got very high support
Include a basic logic, reasoning and problem solving test for any politician. Does not have to be even leetcode easy. Even a average IQ middle schooler should be able to fix this. Also they should be fired if they cannot show progress in solving real world problems.
How can we fire the current ones?
Ideally during elections. But I'm not confident they'll elect the right ones next time around.
Build low-cost shelter well outside SF, where we can afford to maintain them. Then enforce laws in SF until they choose to go to the shelters outside the city
Tiny house in a place east few hours for each of them
Public housing that provides decent and safe accommodations; public works with livable wage jobs.
First step is to ensure the city budget isn’t being constantly misappropriated as it is now. One of the highest taxed cities/counties/state, yet no budget or willpower to provide even the most basic public services. SF is one of the biggest, wealthiest, and most liberal/progressive cities, yet its public works and public health services are grossly inadequate and the city is fucking disgusting.

Where does the tax money go?
