Please don't laugh at me, I am newly graduated and this is my first job out of school. I recently joined blind and I see everyone here post their salary separately and then post something called TC (I don't even know what it stands for). Can someone please help me understand how to calculate TC? Thanking you in advance..
Hi Op, TC = Total Compensation I’m in the same shoes, I’m used to getting base pay, now I’m being offered by Google Base: $62,000 Equity: $49,000 Sign On: $11,000 Bonus Target of 15% ~$9,000 My current base is $80,000 (no other targets) so which is the better choice? If someone could help break it down
Calculate your tc as 62×1.15+49÷4=83.5. Sign on doesn't count since it's one-time.
Some other things to consider that arent captured by tc: ▪︎career growth ▪︎RSUs don't start vesting till you've been there a year ▪︎if you're happy with your current manager, moving is a gamble ▪︎Google on resume ▪︎RSU refreshers

Modi is a legend, will be remembered for centuries to come
TC is total compensation. It's the money you make in a year. Typically salary + bonus + (RSUs / years to vest)
