How to get your cv to pass stage one?

So I’m applying for jobs here and there and of course want to maximise my chances of getting hired. However I feel like I don’t have a good strategy for the first step of applying - sending the CV. I just pick a position and upload to the company’s recruitment platform, which isn’t the best way to get noticed. What else can one do? I’ve tried pming recruiters on LinkedIn (they don’t even look at my profile or read my message) and seeking referrals oh blind, but I guess I’m doing it wrong. So what is your approach? How did you find your jobs?
