I’ve started to become more cognisant about my online footprint and seek to reduce the information I put out online. Here a few things I do: - Hibernate LinkedIn when not recruiting - Deactivate or Delete social media accounts. I don’t have Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat etc. - Use Brave browser along with Brave search / DuckDuckGo - iPhone with most privacy setting enabled like no location access, mic or camera access. - _Should_ use linux but mac with similar privacy settings enabled. - Shipping Amazon packages to a nearby locker instead of home address? - Use P.o. box instead of home address? Please drop more tips in the comments so we can learn together! TC: $135k
Delete the blind app on your phone
Get burner / flip phones instead. iPhones can be hacked when someone really wants to
how can I shit-post on Blind without a smartphone ☹️
Get a mic plug for your Mac, not just a cover for the webcam
Check out Optery
What are you trying to hide?
Who are you trying to protect yourself against? When you get a locker or a P.O. Box you have to give out your identification. Why even order from Amazon? Do your shopping from local stores using cash. Wear face mask or hats to avoid getting captured in the cctv
In my experience, when people ask questions like the OP they’re trying to hide some shady stuff.
@Amazon: I see that you’re in Marketing. Engineers that know that your data is constantly being scraped on the internet and sold. There is great value in privacy.
Buy and read “Extreme Privacy”
Start by digging up information on yourself and compile an inventory then eliminate or secure each account by following a factor authentication and privacy checklist. The process will be tedious and time consuming but worth it.
DuckDuckGo recently made a deal with MSFT to track your search queries
😯☹️
FALSE. They just don’t block Microsoft tracking cookies in their browser when you’re browsing around the same way they block everyone else’s. It doesn’t impact their search engine just their browser. And it’s not like they recently made a deal… this was part of their agreement.
