I'm not a savvy investor. Haven't ever invested on my own and most returns I've gotten are from the savings account of my retail bank. I'm 29 and don't currently own a home (though I'd like to in the next 1-2yrs hopefully). Is there a recommended path to finding a proper money manager so I don't have to take too much of a headache? Edit: TC is $270k
Give it to me...
Took me a while to make this after my loans, sorry.
Now you have to give your money to OP, gxo....
If this is your down payment - cash or low yield bonds
If you need it in 1-2 years for a downpayment buy a CD or look into high interest saving accounts like Ally. The market will probably fluctuate over the next few years. If you have money you're fine locking away for 10+ years, but is diversified and will generate good returns then buy a vanguard low expense index fund.
This is the advice to follow here
