How to manage work life balance?

Frequently I've heard that work life balance is not good in some companies/teams. Engineers take lots of pressure in every sprint as they have to deliver the feature. High performers or old engineers within team some times gives lot of comments on PR which delays development time too (however that's good for product) but it impacts delivery time. As per your experience what are the main issues behind bad WLB? How should it be improved along with our career growth in the team? CTC: 230K
