Hello, I’ve been working in banking an finance for the past 6 years and it has sucked the living daylight out of me. The last six months have been hellish. Anyway, my mentors always told me to move to sales as they believed I had the needed skills to succeed. My degree is also in marketing. The only thing is I have no idea how to smoothly transition and catch the recruiters’ attention? Any suggestions? I’ve already arranged a few calls with people working in sales, so I’m hoping the chats will give me some insights. Location: Dublin, Ireland
How profitable is sales?
“Moss: What's your name? Blake: F___ YOU, that's my name!! You know why, Mister? 'Cause you drove a Hyundai to get here tonight, I drove a eighty thousand dollar BMW. That's my name!!”
Join a fin tech company as an AE (stripe, blend, revolut, etc)
Joining part is the hardest - how to catch the recruiters’ attention when my experience is in completely different field?
Would recommend using a referral. Maybe message someone in sales there and ask about work culture.

“Put that coffee DOWN. Oh have I got your attention now?” You’ll need to start from the bottom. Start several ways by looking into sales support analyst, inside sales... ultimately working your way to account management.
Not scared to start at the bottom. Citi doesn’t pay well here in Ireland
