I'm thinking of selling my car to a private party. It is an entry-level expensive car ( 30k+). Don't want to trade it in as dealer quotes are always atrocious. People here who have done this, what are the things I need to look out for? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
You should find someone who wants to work at fang and tell them you work at Amazon, people will buy it as memorabilia If that doesn't work put it up in auto trader and cars.com. I just used CarMax, because they gave me decent price and I didn't have to deal with posting it, finding someone, making sure there's no problems
$30k doesn't necessitate anything special. Just list it and see who's interested.
30k is expensive but not DuPont registry level expensive lol. It still falls in the craigslist bracket.
As in you think you'll get a better price "privately"? Nah, just list it and wait for decent offers.
Heh! 30K is expensive?
I mean compared to other listings you find on Craigslist
It is expensive for a used car that isn't exotic or rare. In that price range you can get a relatively nice new car or truck.
Finalize trade at dmv so all paperwork can be done at the same time. Verify identity of buyer. Make sure the method of payment is legit
That's like a top-end Civic. Don't be silly.
Not really. I just thought 30k is expensive on Craigslist

>expensive car >30k lol. But anyways, having sold about 15 personal cars myself, meet in a public location, have a friend with you and show the car. Prepare a bill of sale, take down the buyers DL info, what car he came in, phone number etc. Dont hand over the title until cash is handed over or if a cashiers check verified by your bank clears. If you still have a lien, slightly different story.
Do you do the transaction at the bank? Feel like someone wouldn't want to hand over the cashier's check if they aren't getting the title right after.
Yes if its paid for by cashiers check or their own financing, you dont hand over the title until everything is cleared for go ahead (for financing you hand it over to their lein holder anyway). I have done it at banks before yes.
Take out itās private parts and sell
