Are there any tricks? Has any serial procrastinator moved towards developing a 'get things done' mindset, especially in life outside work where there is no manager or reviews?

I used to work for Tim. Heβs right in this ted talk. Most wait for the motivation before doing something. Iβve learned that the motivation will come after starting the task. Also break down your project into smaller, more digestible tasks.

Reward system. But you have to be accountable to yourself. E.g. If I get the laundry and dishes done all tonight, I get 3 hours of video game. For each day you don't get it done that's a week of no games. Or if games don't motivate you, then maybe money. For each day you don't get a chore done, that's $200 or $500 into a CD (I say CD so you can't cheat and take it out, and it will still grow your TC)
