How to stop procrastinating?

Are there any tricks? Has any serial procrastinator moved towards developing a 'get things done' mindset, especially in life outside work where there is no manager or reviews?

Reward system. But you have to be accountable to yourself. E.g. If I get the laundry and dishes done all tonight, I get 3 hours of video game. For each day you don't get it done that's a week of no games. Or if games don't motivate you, then maybe money. For each day you don't get a chore done, that's $200 or $500 into a CD (I say CD so you can't cheat and take it out, and it will still grow your TC)

There's a Ted talk on it. It's funny and informative. But u being a procrastinator won't search for it. πŸ˜‚

I procrastinated about making this post. And then when the above poster mentioned about laundry, it reminded me I have been procrastinating about doing my laundry πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I used to work for Tim. He’s right in this ted talk. Most wait for the motivation before doing something. I’ve learned that the motivation will come after starting the task. Also break down your project into smaller, more digestible tasks.
