I am currently an IC4 software engineer at Facebook (Meta); I have been approached for software engineering roles at Hopper at least twice now. How well does Hopper pay (for software engineers)? Any sample salaries (what’s the base and equity like)? I’ve seen folks go from some big names (Netflix, Google, etc) over to Hopper. They must pay well, I imagine? Is it likely due to base or equity? #engineering #swe #software #salary #salarycomparison
Fair warning [Blind] Check out this post! Is Hopper another Amazon? (Tech Industry) https://us.teamblind.com/s/mosC8HbA
If you hop to hopper, you become a hopper.
hoppet matches Offer. sometimes beats
We pay well but it’s a gamble being here. Hopper tries to keep their equity by working you dry and the 3rd and 10th month milestones are when they evaluate your performance and let you go. Most senior hires never get to 1 year from what I see, which means they never see the equity.
How many times have you seen this? I'm at my 3rd month mark now. Any tips on how I can survive?
maybe depend on team, I'm in Air, everyone is fine.
Is it normal to be fired after three months? Join soon
I don't think so. Unless you're absolutely terrible engineer. Also depends on the manager and their expectations
There’s definitely more turnover than Amazon. Just hope your manager isn’t expecting unrealistic targets.
Bro just ask the recruiter to give you a range before interviewing I’d they reach out it’s almost a given that you ask them this question during your initial call
