I'm about four years into my career. I've been programming for about eight to nine years. Before diving into industry, I've always aspired to one day be able to work on awesome projects like Facebook Messenger, Instagram Stories, Youtube, Google Docs, Google Chrome, Google Maps, Airbnb, and more recently Figma. Products that just works and makes me feel powerful. Four years later, I'm on a random team working on things I don't really care about. Can the engineers that were worked on initial versions of the products above share your story? How were you able to position yourself to work on sexy projects?
Most of us are in the same position. It’s just a job. It’s not like we’re reinventing the world, working on rocket science, or helping save lives.
Its alll the same in the long run
