Obviously no one has a crystal ball, but is the general sentiment that the dearth of new grads going into HW design increase TC due to low supply? Or will outsourcing to India replace many of the jobs in the US? #hardware #semiconductor
It’s really hard to innovate in HW and that will always be. Software and ML probably outperform as it’s low barrier to entry will bring more people in and there will be more opportunity. Less people does not mean more opportunity.
there will be no shortage of hw engineers. For those not able to crack leetcode questions, they will end up being HW engineers.
So you think asic design is easy compared to a SW job ? I don’t think so
For that stupid leed code you need a processor to run, which may be made by some person who end up being "HW" engineer

China CYBERATTACK on UK ? WTF
HW salaries are typically lower imo. Due to low profit margins, not scalable, long release cycles yada yada
That is true. But if the vast majority of new grads in Computer Engineering go into SW (90%+ in my program), wouldn’t there be a shortage of HW engineers which will lead to higher TC? Especially in 20 years when the experienced engineers of today retire.
