Title says it all. Heard the team trying to shake things up and innovate with new businesses. Anyone here from Dropbox open to chat? TC 400K #design #dropbox #dropboxcompany
We still have amazing designers. My role changed so I don’t get to work with them as much as I used to. Design has a great reputation in the company and has a very strong voice. Design is, for example, leading the design of our remote work philosophy - they’ve called it “virtual first”. It’s worth an interview loop, you can talk to the designers first hand about life at dropbox.
Thanks. That’s helpful.
Lost a lot of notable leaders lately. Worth talking to people hired pre-covid, along w/ people hired after going virtual/remote.
Can you explain why? (The lost)
A large part is likely virtual first. It’s not what any of us signed up for and it’s (reasonably) a dealbreaker for some. There was also a bit of a change in direction last year. The new direction is much better (dropbox is now pursuing multiple products, not just better FSS). Some projects were cut/changed/deemphasized, so some people were soured by that. Some had been at the company for 8+ years and it was just their time.
Thanks for asking this I was curious. OP what did you end up doing? Talking to DBX right now and want to know what I am getting into
Didn’t move ahead with the interview. The role was not a fit. They needed someone more start-uppy I’d think. Overall stock growth is pretty slow-ish as compared to other players.
Yeah this is one of my concerns on top of what I've heard about their lack of growth and innovation. I have a good amount of startup experience but also want to work for a company with a more hockey stick trajectory like Asana. Done with startup life too I think.
400k?? What’s your level and yoe at LinkedIn?
L6 and 11.
