Any recommendations for Engineering roles at Twilio? What's the tech stack like? Heavy or medium legacy? Linux vs Windows? AWS, Azure, GCP? Would you recommend it to a friend? How's WLB? TC: $360k 🥜
I hear they are migrating to EKS, but not there yet.
The worst part of Twilio right now is the attrition and lost institutional knowledge. You will find blocks of code that you have no idea why they exist, the contributor is deactivated, and no one can safely tell if it’s needed anymore. The tech debt is now permanent
This true of a lot of places.
Yes it’s true of, but I’m talking about the extent. It’s by far the worst as anywhere else I’ve worked

I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
Big on K8 They should have good wlb. Company is very big on social issues sensitivity
Lol what. We have no clue about k8, we are on an age old stack. Segment is better on k8. We are a dinosaur
Can confirm. My team is critical to the business and is not using k8s in any microservice. Everything is ancient, supported by scripts, etc A complete operacional mess
